About TenSevenStories

TenSevenStories is a digital archive capturing the personal testimonies of survivors of the October 7th, 2023, massacre in Israel. Through powerful video interviews and engaging content shared across digital platforms, we aim to preserve these important stories, combat misinformation, and raise awareness about the ongoing impact of antisemitism.

Our mission is to ensure that the voices of survivors are heard and remembered for generations to come.

Through personalized storytelling, TenSevenStories brings the heart-wrenching experiences of survivors to the forefront. We produce mini-documentaries that are shared widely on platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, helping raise awareness and spark conversations online.

Alongside our short-form content, we are also creating a full-length documentary for global screenings, offering deeper insight into the events of October 7th.

All survivor testimonies will be preserved in a digital archive on our website, ensuring their stories endure. Additionally, we are developing an educational curriculum based on these accounts, designed for use in schools, colleges, and community organizations to foster learning and engagement.

Why TenSevenStories?

On October 7, 2023, Hamas attacked Israel, marking the deadliest day for the Jewish people since the Holocaust, leaving 1,200 men, women, and children dead. According to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), 2,200 rockets were fired from Gaza into Israel. On this same day, armed members of Hamas physically breached the border between Israel and the Gaza Strip by air, land, and sea. Members of Hamas brutally murdered civilians in their homes and throughout their communities along the border of Gaza. Additionally, almost 400 people were killed while attending the Nova Music Festival. Survivor testimonies and credible and highly reputable news outlets have reported disturbing accounts of sexual violence committed against men, women, and children on this day. Shortly after the attacks, videos were released on social media and various news outlets depicting members of Hamas taking men, women, children, and the elderly hostage. Hamas took 251 hostages into Gaza, both dead and alive. Many communities and individuals across Israel have been greatly affected, with over 100,000 Israelis being displaced as a result of the war.

According to Hillel International, there has been a 700 percent increase in antisemitic rhetoric, behavior, and denial of the suffering facing Jews and Israelis at college campuses around the world. In particular, protest narratives have neglected the plight of the hostages and the mass displacement of Israelis from the South and Galilee regions. At times, such protests have lauded terrorism as a legitimate form of political resistance.

Moreover, on many college campuses, anti-Israel agitators have protested and established incendiary encampments, disrupting access to campus buildings and, at times, intentionally discriminating against Jewish and Zionist students. Organizations such as Students Justice for Palestine (SJP) have organized a significant share of these demonstrations. Many of the students involved in such protests have been armed with misinformation from social media platforms, highlighting the negative impact that social media can have on our youth during the present war.

The recent Israel-Hamas conflict has highlighted significant antisemitism and denial, particularly on college campuses. Observations have shown disturbing trends of students denying or celebrating the violence perpetrated on October 7th. Many young people access information through social media, making it crucial to offer accurate and personal accounts to counter misinformation. TenSevenStories will address this need by creating compelling content that conveys true stories of the attacks.

Hidden
Victims

Hearing from the

Hidden victims are those who have been deeply affected by the aftermath of the October 7th attacks but whose struggles remain largely unnoticed. Unlike other projects that focus on specific aspects of the attacks, such as the Nova Festival Massacre or different Kibbutzim that were attacked, TenSevenStories also highlights these often-overlooked individuals. This includes farmers whose workers were sent home, shuk shop owners facing a loss of tourism, healthcare workers burdened by increased hours, displaced families from the North and South, and children who have had to switch or build new schools. These examples are only a limited description, as the project itself will further uncover the full extent of these hidden victims and their stories, providing a broader understanding of the impact across Israeli society.
